Long Time No Blog

Sorry to all my non-existent readers. I was on vacation at home! I haven't posted any blogs lately because my life is boring......okay not really but here goes.

Last week I was off work all week and I had a really great time. I tried to make sure that I did not waste one day of it!

Saturday - Jason's Paintball Team BBQ
Sunday - Was really hot......watched football
Monday - Hung out with the parentals
Tuesday - Lunch and tea party with Kari!
Wednesday - Went shopping
Thursday - Visited Women in the Word (Miss you guys!)
Friday - Relaxed (Oh and got into a minor car accident!)
Saturday - Jason's mom came and brought me dinner
Sunday - Watch football all day!

Yeah so it was a great week. Ollie is now a crawling MADMAN! I have a great video of him, I will try to get it uploaded, but it is pretty big.

Ooh Im Cute!

Yep I am cute. As of last Sunday I am 7 months old! I can crawl like a catepillar, I like to blow rasberries and spit all over the place, I like to play with my toys, follow my mom into the kitchen, touch the puppy and I hate to go to bed!

Ollie Swinging

Had a "sick day" today so Ollie and I decided to make the best of it! The weather is gorgeous today! We walked over to the park this morning but there were no baby swings, so we strolled back and decided to swing in the yard! After that we made out way to Target and came home for lunch, nothing too exciting! I am going to make some two mustard chicken for dinner tonite and then back to work like normal tomorrow! All moved in - well pretty much!

As I unpacked my LAST box today I felt the rush of excitement - or maybe more so relief! I feel like I have been moving forever! First from the apartment to the garage, then a week at the inlaws, then into the new place, then to work for a week, then back to unpacking over the weekend and today - TADA! What was even great about it was that I decided not to do anything yesterday, because I was so tired, that I would just finish whenever, and then, the Lord blessed me with a day off unexpectedly, so I got to run my errands and finish unpacking today while feeling rested.

There are still a few odds and ends to finish up, mostly things on J's "honey do" list, and there is still a bit of wall to paint, but other than that we are really settling in!

Back to work tomorrow and then my mom comes up to visit on Thursday! So excited! Friday night Jason is going to stay home with Ollie and we are going to go to the movies! WOOT! Anyways, I will try ot get some pictures of the house posted for you all as soon as I take them. Until lata!

Move in Weekend!

Are we tired or what! Well, we decided to cancel our Wisconsin trip this weekend because we figured we had too much to do at the new place, and we were right. We started moving in Sunday and we are maybe half way done.

We got the living room painted, and the base coat of Ollie's room down. We still need to paint the dining room and move some more furniture in. We did get the kitchen and living room pretty much set up so that we can at least get through the work week until the weekend again. We hope to finish everthing by this coming weekend and then we will hopefully have a fun housewarming bbq!

So very tired..........

Finally the weekend is almost here! I am so very tired today. As you know we are all living at the in-laws for this week and although we feel blessed by their hospitality we are oh-so-very tired. Staying so far from our "normal life" is rough. The commute alone is reason enough to cry. I think it takes Jason 2 hours door to door to get to his job in Chicago! Me, only 50 minutes, but still it is rough to have to wake up Ollie so early and get everyone out the door. I am blessed to have the rest of the week off so I am looking forward to some time to relax! Last weekend was full of packing, packing, cleaning and moving, not much rest and relaxation, and since we can not yet move in, there is not much I can do but to just sit idle and relax the next few days! Saturday morning we leave at 5:00 am to Fremont, Wisconsin for some fishing and camping! I will be sure to post some pics!

Adventures in Babysitting

What a wonderful weekend to have had. I spent the better half of last week haphazardly packing up our apartment. As most of you know we are moving into a house about a half mile west of our apartment. We are pretty excited. We were very fortunate and had about 15 people come and help us move our stuff out and into the garage of the new place. This week we will be "in limbo" and be staying with the in-laws in Mundelein! Not bad except for the whole commuting to Evanston thing, but that's alright, we will survive!

Saturday we will leave for Red River in Wisconsin for Ollie's first fishing trip! We will return on Labor Day to resume moving into the new place! Jason will be painting and suspect I will be unpacking and cleaning! Look for postings of the new place next week!

Dragged Behind the Bandwagon

Yes. I am completely un-originally and have too started a blog. I am pretty sure maybe only about 4 people on this planet may tune in to read the exciting adventures of the Strayhorn family, but I am here, bored, and ready to blog!

I have named our blog Sleep in Progress, inspired by a pajama t-shirt worn by a little chubby munchkin I know by the name of John, and because it seems to be the theme of my life since we had one Mr. Oliver James.

So, not sure where to start but hope you enjoy!
